Zuppa Toscana recipe... better than Olive Garden

Okay since Olive Graden decided to jack the price up on their soup, salad, and breadsticks to almost $9.00 I have jumped ship and decided to dig up a recipe and tweak it to my liking... but I make mine in my slow cooker ;)

Here is a pic of the last batch I made :)

1 lb Italian ground sausage
6 large potatoes, I cube mine- but cut them however you like
1 large onion, chopped
1 Tablespoon of minced garlic
1 bag of fresh kale with stems removed and chopped
1 48oz Chicken broth
1 16oz container heavy whipping cream
 salt and pepper to taste

 First I brown the ground sausage with the chopped onion and the minced garlic and drain (set aside)I then put the chicken broth, potatoes, along with salt and pepper into the slow cooker, after that add the drained ground sausage, onion and garlic mixture and add it to the slow cooker. Once the Ground sausage is added you then want to fill the slow cooker till it is 3/4 full with water turn it to low and cook for about 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low. Once that time has passed and your potatoes are tender but not mushy it is time to add the chopped Kale and the heavy whipping cream. Once those two are added I suggest cooking it on low for 30 minutes and you are good to go and enjoy your soup!
